She laughs when asked why she pursued not only a doctorate in chemistry but a post- graduate and a master’s degree in the discipline as well. “That’s what people always (ask!)” she stated with a laugh. “Why chemistry?”She explained that she has always enjoyed science subjects and that while she was in high school she realised that she wanted to pursue a career that would help people suffering from diseases… “I wanted to do my part to try and find cures for these diseases that were affecting people and I thought chemistry would be the best way to make that contribution because chemistry is sort of a linchpin science subject. You need an understanding of chemistry to do biology; also psychics and chemistry are also overlapping subject areas. Plus it was hard and I’m always up for challenges!” she stated with another laugh. Inquiring mindDescribed by her mother as a child who had an inquiring mind Dianah admitted that she always wanted to know how things worked. She said her parents have always fuelled her passion for the sciences and always encouraged her and her older sister Dr. Belinda Barrett who works at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Kingston to be the best that they could be.

put on a pretty good display creating a few scoring chances (Landon Donovan should have put away a point-blank header off Quavas Kirk’s marvelous cross but hit it over the bar) and defending in a much more organized manner. (Ty Harden in particular improved dramatically from Tuesday night. ) The Galaxy still needs a lot of work to build some chemistry but this is a team that could improve dramatically down the stretch in MLS given the talent on the roster. Donovan may wear No. 10 but he isn’t a No… But Donovan clearly wasn’t comfortable in the center rarely touching the ball and not distributing with much precision even when he did. Donovan will be much more dangerous when he’s farther upfield — and on the end of Beckham’s passes. The Galaxy’s lack of chemistry and possession with Donovan in the center was a reminder that it may take a while for Beckham to gain an understanding with his teammates in that spot even when he does get healthy. Beckham and MLS referees may be a combustible mix. It only took Becks 11 minutes to get visibly upset with referee Brian Hall which makes me curious to see how frustrated he becomes with the zebras once play really gets going. Remember Beckham collected yellow cards like crazy in Spain last season and I was often struck by how demonstrative he got with referees in La Liga.

Their charges increased their scores by at least 20 percentage points. The ground is ready to introduce the teaching of science inquiry in Payatas. Ateneo can second to these schools a physics or chemistry teacher and a math tutor to teach measurement. The project that the Payatas kids will be interested to work on is methane. As a former dumpsite Payatas is literally oozing with methane. CH4 is a colorless odorless flammable gas that is the main constituent of natural gas. It’s the simplest of the alkanes and is used as a fuel and as a source of other chemicals… It’s the simplest of the alkanes and is used as a fuel and as a source of other chemicals. Schoolchildren in grade 6 and high school can be grouped into teams to handle the different components of the project. The chemistry of gases could be taught by following John Dalton’s simple experiment: a lighted candle is allowed to burn for a minute before it is covered with a large glass. Within seconds the flame is extinguished. Combustion is a chemical reaction that depends on oxygen. The byproduct of this reaction is carbon dioxide the gas that replaced the oxygen to mix with all the other gases in the atmosphere. Even the experiments of James Joule were carried out with simple equipment.
