Hittle missed most of last season with an injury; however she returns healthy this season.           For the University of Hawai‘i women’s volleyball team last season was as much about ankle braces and ice packs as it was digs and aces. With season-ending injuries to starters Tara Hittle Jessica Keefe and Nickie Thomas the Rainbow Wahine were put through lineup-shuffling adversity before making a late-season run which ended with a loss to UCLA in the NCAA regional finals.           Unfortunately for the ‘Bows 2007′s injury list has already claimed its first Wahine. 12 at a team practice Nickie Thomas suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and medical meniscus in her left knee.

Hufnagel spent the past 19 years at Abbott Laboratories’ northern Illinois facilities as a senior process scientist working in various roles related to process development manufacturing outsourcing and compliance. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wabash College in Crawfordsville Ind. Most recently he was the manager of quality assurance at Eli Lilly and Co. where he managed a team that provided quality oversight to API manufacturing and material management… Horn previously worked for Covance in Indianapolis where he supervised the mass spectrometry analytical laboratory and was responsible for supporting the development and validation of bioanalytical methods for preclinical and clinical development of new chemical entities. He will work with the discovery biology and development analytical team to develop and validate methods to support testing in early drug development efforts and toxicology studies. Horn has a master’s degree in analytical chemistry from Purdue University. * Kevin Wang was promoted to scientist III. Wang’s promotion is in recognition of his contributions toward the design and synthesis of small organic molecules in ongoing discovery efforts. He has overseen professional growth and steady increases of scientific creativity through six records of invention one patent application and a recent publication in the Journal of rganic Chemistry. Wang has a doctorate degree in organic chemistry from Queen’s University in Canada and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
