You could either look to trade Miettinen or Fedoruk. I believe Conner would be a nice stop-gap while the team looks for a new winger for the top six – or he could actually be the answer to that dilemma. The bottom line is that the short-term chemistry of the team is more important than trying to make players part of the team when they could be gone by the end of the season. • • • Q: Watching the slow starts of Atlanta and Montreal could be a key moment for a trade with Dallas. Alexei Kovalev is in disfavor in Montreal and Marian Hossa has been injured most of the season so far. Both Atlanta and Montreal need defense and Dallas is loaded on that side. Maybe Hossa is a longshot for a trade but what a combination for the first line Kovalev is one of my personal favorites (a speedy rightwing with skill and scoring punch) and I believe he would fit right in with Dallas.
