Universities in the US confront the challenge of giant classrooms
Taipei Times – Nov 28, 2007
‘ The Cristol Chemistry Building at the University of Colorado is a hive of activity on weekday mornings. Every hour hundreds of laptop-toting students file in and out of its theater-style lecture halls where classes are scheduled back to back. In all there are 33 courses at Colorado with 400 students or more. Three have more than 1200. Most are broken into sections but even those may have hundreds of students… Three have more than 1200. Most are broken into sections but even those may have hundreds of students. ne chemistry course is so big that the only place on campus where everyone can take the final exam at once is the Coors Event Center Colorado’s basketball arena. Such arrangements are here to stay on US campuses. There are already 18 million American college students and that number is expected to increase by 2 million over the next eight years as the value of a college degree continues to climb. To get everyone through their coursework monstrous class sizes are unavoidable. That does not have to be a bad thing.

Suton seeks another double-double

“I’m confident but I look at the film and I don’t think I played that well” Suton said. “I could have had even more rebounds and more points so I’m going to go out there and try to beat what I did last game. Izzo said that MSU’s on-court chemistry is taking longer to develop than he anticipated. Part of the problem stems from the fact that as good as freshmen guards Kalin Lucas Chris Allen and Durrell Summers have been they aren’t immune from making the mistakes typical of first-year players. Having older experienced players like Suton disappear every other game makes it even more difficult for MSU to be effective for sustained stretches. “When I say ‘out-of-sync’ it doesn’t mean people don’t know what they’re doing” Izzo said. “Sometimes it means we’re a second off on a pass or a second off on a pick or maybe just not getting the ball where we should or could.

After my Diploma I found out it wasn’t easy to get an admission to do a degree so I took another JAMB exam to study Accounting but at the end of the day I got the admission to study Law as well as passed the JAMB to study Accounting but chose Law. Motivation I had three courses in mind which were Accounting Law and Medicine but my father wanted me to study Medicine. But while in secondary school my Chemistry teacher who was a family friend did not make things easy for me. She was lazy and wouldn’t come to class so I didn’t like her. I started going to other schools to collect their Chemistry materials so that I could read. When she noticed this she became angry and forced me to copy her own notes but the notes I had with me was almost the same with her’s so I refused to copy her’s. Whenever a question was asked in class I answered… But while in secondary school my Chemistry teacher who was a family friend did not make things easy for me. I wanted to prove to her that without chemistry I could succeed in life so I put in for Social Sciences in my ‘’level exams.
