Penguins: Another chemistry class is in session

How a center and his wingers mesh is a matter of sweat luck and perhaps a little pixie dust. Consider that two summers ago Petr Sykora was signed as a potential winger for Crosby. Yet Sykora found good chemistry with Penguins center Evgeni Malkin. Those two and left winger Ruslan Fedotenko — the latest to play on Malkin’s line — are expected to make up one of the top two forward combinations today at Philadelphia after they spit out seven points including Sykora’s first career hat trick in the Penguins’ 9-2 pasting of the New York Islanders. That is until or unless things aren’t to coach Michel Therrien’s liking and he switches things around perhaps going to his short-term spark of putting Malkin on Crosby’s wing. “When you see that things don’t work out you have to make some changes” Therrien said. “But we’re all for stability and as long as the performance is there and the chemistry is there you want to keep [lines] together.
Climate change alters ocean chemistry: study

“What we learned from this work is that the ocean system is much more sensitive to climate change than we have previously appreciated” says another researcher Elizabeth Griffith. “We thought that the concentration of calcium which is a major element in seawater would change slowly and gradually over tens of millions of years. But what our data suggests is that there could be a more dynamic relationship between climate and ocean chemistry which can sometimes result in rapid biogeochemical reorganization. ” Editor: Du.
