Beckman to Acquire Chemistry Business
Morningstar.ca
Upon initial review of the deal terms and strategic reasoning we are holding steady on our fair value estimate. The deal will total about $800 million financed with $500 million in debt and $300 million in equity. The acquisition should strengthen Beckman’s position in clinical chemistry and improve the firm’s position in Europe where lympus has substantial scale. The company predicts lympus’ lab business will add about $500 million in revenue and $40 million to $50 million in operating income in 2010 with the deal expected to close in the third quarter of this year. At first blush we think the announced price is reasonable given Beckman’s opportunity to expand its global reach and cross-sell existing products to a fresh customer base. Beckman has long used its traditional chemistry customers as a foundation to cross-sell its immunoassay products and we believe this deal adds new potential revenue synergies for chemistry and immunoassay. The firm also expects cost synergies of $50 million to $60 million through leveraging infrastructure sales teams research and development and administrative expenses.

They had just had a science fair at her school on Friday Legos said and chartered a bus for the Scripps trip. Even though it was Saturday nearly all of the 53 kids in the class came she said.
