Culbert | Chemistry professor 82 Craig Dunlap Culbert 82 of Merion who taught chemistry at Arcadia University for 30 years died of cancer March 27 at his home. Professor Culbert joined the faculty of then-Beaver College in 1963. He was devoted to his students and spent hours giving them extra help his wife Mary Wilson Culbert said. In 1977 he received the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. After retiring in 1993 he continued to supervise the chemistry lab at Arcadia until 1999.

The focus of the entire season has been winning a national championship and the team believes the best way to accomplish that end is by playing together as one unit. The Lady Ruggers don’t have a senior night and positions are earned by playing not on seniority. These policies as well as trips like the European tour over spring break and the Keystone Tournament have created a strong chemistry among the players. “With the whole trip to Philadelphia staying at people’s houses you kind of get to know people in a much different atmosphere” fifth-year senior Lauren Rosso said. “You get to see them at rugby or when you’re studying but when you’re away from Penn State it’s different but it’s really a lot of fun. Rosso said that while this weekend is a huge boost for chemistry the team is already close from being together in practice and even away from rugby. With the relaxed atmosphere of the weekend the Lady Ruggers can focus on playing rugby and having a good time with their teammates.
