Mariners’ chemistry question: Chicken or egg?
Seattle Post Intelligencer
Led by veterans Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Sweeney this group has been much more interactive and excitable. How long has it been since you’ve seen so many Mariners up on the rail of the dugout rooting for each other?Which leads to the age-old debate does chemistry really matter to a big-league baseball team? And do teams generally get along because they win or do they win because they get along?Last year’s Mariners have been portrayed as a club divided. But let’s be honest most teams that lose 101 games are not going to be all happy faces and smiles. Losing strains relationships at every level of sport from Little League to the bigs particularly over the length of six months of misery. But new M’s skipper Don Wakamatsu made a point Monday about how chemistry can indeed make a difference from the start when it simply comes to players talking baseball with each other and leaning on each other toward the common goal instead of sitting in silence. “Guys like Sweeney and Grif and Adrian you watch them on the bench and they’re cheering each other on.

Will ‘Big Bang’ go there with Penny and Sheldon?
Entertainment Weekly
They are great friends and nothing more. However down the road it would be great for Sheldon to have a love interest. Dee Thu Apr 16 2009 at 03:04 PM ESTThey have good chemistry as friends and enjoy their exchange surprisingly. They should continue to build their relationship until they become best friends which would shock both of them. JenniferH Thu Apr 16 2009 at 03:00 PM ESTWhile I’m a HUGE Sheldon & Penny fan I agree that putting them together anytime soon would be too soon. I agree with Prady that it’s been gradual progress with Sheldon & Penny who is bringing that out in him. That progression if followed naturally could (and should!) lead to Sheldon waking up to romance.

There were 281 exhibits with a total of 312 finalists representing 104 schools from throughout the state with 168 teachers and adults sponsoring the students’ projects. At least 60 organizations offered special awards to the finalists including one award sponsored by the Eppler family from Berthoud. Gerri entered the Chemistry category with her project “A Model Study of Drug Intake” prepared for the science fair event at Turner Middle School. The Turner Science Fair is an annual event and this year it was organized by the eighth-grade science teachers Kevin Gonzales and Suzanne Cox. This event held on March 12 resulted in four students from Berthoud competing at the regional level (Longs Peak Regional Science and Engineering Fair). Kevin Gonzales and Turner Middle School as Gerri Roberts’ sponsors are now on the 2009 Adult Sponsor Honor Roll. As a junior level participant Gerri spent the first day setting up her exhibit and being judged.
