Department of Energy announced that it was distributing big chunks of Recovery Act money for “shovel-ready” projects officials broke ground for a new $95 million chemistry laboratory at ak Ridge National Laboratory. All Rights Reserved.

‘Father of green chemistry’ Paul Anastas to head EPA research

President bama has nominated Paul Anastas Yale’s Teresa and H. John Heinz III Professor in the Practice of Chemistry for the Environment to lead the U. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ffice of Research and Development. Anastas is currently director of the Center for Green Chemistry & Green Engineering at Yale where he holds joint appointments in chemistry chemical engineering and the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.

Chemistry is for kids.

Three local brainiacs are competing for a spot at the the 41st annual International Chemistry lympiad to be held in Cambridge England this summer. The three suburban Chicago high school students are among 20 finalists chosen from 12 states to compete for the U.
