As long as we can stay healthy I think we’re on our way. ”Rodriguez feels the No. 1 strength of his squad right now is team chemistry. “Since we had spring practice four-five months ago I’ve seen our team really bond and merge” Rodriguez said. “It’s been great to see. ”At this time of the year all of the college coaches everywhere see great things for their teams but Rodriguez seems determined. Rodriguez recognizes that Michigan’s anemic offense must improve.

They sat like this for more than 10 minutes Friday like patients in the waiting room of a doctor’s office which is what the Mets’ clubhouse has often looked like lately. Players still interact away from the field and batting cage mostly over card games and watching television neither of which requires much conversation.

For Jang the past year has been a prelude to a future she hopes to build in chemistry as she begins her college career this fall at Yale University. But it’s also been the fulfillment of a childhood dream. As she graduated from high school in June she gathered with her parents to crack open a time capsule they made when Jang began kindergarten. Among the 12-year-old treasures was a photograph of a preschool Jang engulfed in a huge white lab coat holding a sign that said “Scientist. “”That was funny” she says adding that some of her best childhood memories were attending nature camps and science day camps.
