“It’s an honor” Johnson said. “It’s an opportunity to represent a profession that gets to empower students from all backgrounds and gives them a chance to do what they always wanted to do. “Johnson has spent his entire 23-year teaching career as part of the Greenwave teaching chemistry and AP chemistry. “This was my first teaching job right out of college” Johnson said. “I actually did it as a practice interview for another job in California. But I really liked the superintendent (former CCSD superintendent Elmo Dericco) and the community so I stayed. “Johnson who has a bachelor of science degree from Boise State University and a master of science degree from the University of Nevada Reno has been encouraging students to pursue careers in the science field in order to make a difference in the world.
